Can I move inventor from my old win7 laptop to my new win8 laptop?

Inventor 2014 ran brilliantly on my HP G6 laptop, but I have bought an HP Envy m5, and would like to move Inventor to it: is this possible? And if so, how, please?

Welcome to the forum.

Short answer is "No"

The reason being is when you install any program is affects the registry and that is specific to the PC it is on.

You are best just installing it fresh on the new PC selecting the same options as you did on the one that is running smoothly.

and remember NOT to update to Win8.1 as Inventor will not work (atm)

(if the laptop is already 8.1 then best bet is to wipe and install Win7)

Sometimes you just need a good old reboot.

Probably best to ask your question here

http://forums.autodesk.com/t5/Installation-Licensing/bd-p/24

if you have trouble transferring the license.
