Hi,

Can anybody tell me stp by step procedure, to create semi-sphere  in Inventor or how to draw semi-sphere ?

I am unable get this semi-sphere, using all the "extrude", split" options. I am just a beginner. I tried all possible for me.

Pls help ?

Revolve quarter arc with perpendicular lines closing the profile.

Quickest way I thought of...

1. Project your YZ and XZ Planes on your new sketch

2. Draw a circle from the center point to the desired diameter of your sphere

3. Trim the circle to the projected lines

4. Finish the Sketch

5. Revolve Command, Pick the profile then pick the axis (the projected XZ plane

Your sketch should look like this. Even if your sphere diameter is larger than your projected lines, it will all still work the same.SemiSphere.PNG

Nearly everything you have done is wrong.

You didn't Trim the arc as shown in my response.  (technically the trimming isn't required - but will help you vizualize what you are doing)

You have only one line while there are clearly two perpendicular lines in the image I attached.

You used Extrude while I stated to use Revolve.

I am not completely sure what you want, and I can't make another video right now, maybe later this afternoon,

a few things, you need to include all .ipt files that are part of the .iam ( all part files that are used in the assembly), this forum only allows 3 files to be uplaoded, so you will need to zip them and attach. If the folder is larger than 1.5mb, it won't be allowed to upload, you will have to roll up the EOP marker, (search this forum for that topic)

Also you might want to check out some youtube videos on Beginner Inventor Tutorials.

Sounds like you just need to use constraints for placement, there are different types...if you are using a plane/face mated to a round face, use the tangent constraint (the one in the middle) in the type section:

Good Luck, post back if you still require help...
