Can a project number be assigned to a project file?

Is it possible to assign a project number to a project file and have it fill in the project Iproerties field?

Using Inventor 2022 on Windows 10

Ideas needing support: spur gear tooth profile, rack gears generator

Not possible with current release. This is by designed or a limitations with the product. If you would like to enter a wish list item asking for this to be considered as an enhancement please use the following link.

There are probably indirect ways to go about it using iLogic or VBA, if you'd like to investigate that route.  I have an iLogic rule (which I believe is based on code from Curtis Waguespack) that copies the name of the project file to the Project iProperty in a drawing.

If your project files are named using the number as the filename, something like that could work for you.  If you name them with some other convention, perhaps the project file names and numbers could be entered in some kind of Excel log, and an Excel lookup function added to the iLogic rule to find the appropriate project number for that Project File.
