CAM Software for Inventor

I am looking for CAM software that will read native Inventor files (without any user translation). I know about MasterCAm and EdgeCAM, but are there others?

We utilize Vault, and I would like the programmers to be able to get the latest from Vault. They do not have Inventor or other Autocad products on their computers.

Thanks

Vault 2008 can install without inventor or acad.

Check out SolidCAM. It runs in the Inventor window and stores it's data as part of the file, making it perfect for Vault users.

I saw a demo for ESPRIT and it does look very nice. Haven't really used it though. One nice feature of ESPRIT is that anyone can load it on any machine and preview parts being machined (i.e. the software acts like a viewer if you don't have a licence). You only need the licence to create the .NC files. This means that your operators can use the software to preview all operations before they run. Also, the preview shows the entire machine operating including tool head, not just the stock being cut. AFAIK, it was also a little cheaper than some of the other options out there.

question for all the CAM users, are any of the packages fully associative with Inventor yet?

Again, ESPRIT does offer associativity and adptive machining.

Edgecam can detect if the model has changed and will prompt you to reload the model to update the geometry. The tool paths will regenerate after the part has been reloaded.

hyperMILL runs from a menu in Inventor and applies tool paths directly to
the parts. It appears to be part of Inventor except for simulation and a
few other functions.

Yes InventorCAM is fully associative and fully integrated within Inventor see www.inventorcam.com and see link to a review

Does anyone have any recommendations for CAM software for welding robots?

Thanks.
