Calculation of paint area

Hi,

How can Inventor calculate the paint area of a one-side open container with a double bottom?

The container should be painted at the inside and outside.

But not the hollow space between the double bottom and the real bottom?

Kind regards

Jan

Two options...

  1. Select all of the surfaces that you want to include, RMB Measure Area.
  2.  Make the "hollow" portion of the double bottom the last element of the part.

Now slide the EOP above the last element and bring up your iProperties.

You could even model the paint and get the volume of paint needed.

Derive Component as surface body and Thicken for the paint.

   (or do as multi-body solid)

What version of Inventor are you using (I can post a 2013 example).
