Cable question

I have an assembly with a couple of cables in it. I went to edit one of the cables. First, I was asked to make the cable adaptive first. So when I try to make the cable adaptive, I get the following error (attached). Not sure what this means and how to fix it?

Don't know cables but I do tube and pipe and they are similar.

You can copy a cable route but it needs to be inside the "cable and harness" assembly.

Do the copy and paste operation then go to top level of that asembly (finish cable and harness environment) save the files and then go back inside cable and harness and make that part .

It doesn't reuse the cable but makes a copy with a different name that has the same geometry (route) as the original one.

I am sure it's same workflow so here's a tube and pipe read.

Lost a couple of words in the process of writing it.

"Do the copy and paste operation then go to top level of that assembly (finish cable and harness environment) save the files and then go back inside cable and harness and make that part ADAPTIVE."

Sorry.
