It's a corruption in your Windows profile, and not necessarily with the Inventor
settings. To create a new profile try the following:
1. Log in as Administrator on local domain.
2. Go to C:\Documents and Settings and there will be a folder the same name as
the log in that is causing problems. It may have numerous entries like {User
Name}.000 and .001. The one that was modified most recently is the correct one.
3. Rename this folder to Backup, then log off Administrator.
4. Log back in as normal and Windows will recreate your profile with default
settings.
To add back any customised shortcuts, Outlook settings etc. you can now move the
relevant entries out of the C:\Documents and Settings\Backup folder into the new
one created for your user name.
