Is there anyway to use the break-out command in an IDW to show something inside an enclosure that you normally would not see? I don't mean a section view but an Isometric view that temporarily removes a part of the wall of an enclosure so you can see what is inside, specifically in a presentation view?
Thx
Kev
HI KevinPinks7697,
The video at this link might help. It wasn't clear to me if you've used Break Out views in the past, and are trying to do something specific, or if you're just new to the Break Out View tools, so my applogies if I'm missing the mark here.
I hope this helps.

First of all thanks for your help! What I want to do is only "break-out" 2 of the parts in the assembly and leave the others untouched. So if I select "through part", it breaks though the complete part, through both walls, near and far. I only want to break through the nearest wall of the part, but I am not sure how to do this and leave the rest of the parts untouched?
Thx
HI KevinPinks7697,
To cut away just a couple of exterior parts, use one the Break Out view creation methods such as From Point to create the Break Out view, then edit the drawing browser and set the parts you don't want cut to have a Section Participation setting of None.
Here are a couple of links discussing the Section Participation tools and some things to be aware of:

Hello!
My problem is the following: I have Inventor 2010, and I already managed to make a break out view, where I would like to show a bolt in a bore (the bolt is not from the library), but the bolt is sectioned also. How can I make the bolt fully visible?
Thanks!
Peter
