Break Out View Question

I need to create a break out view of an orthographic projection but when I do this, the two ends of the part are not in alignment with each other.  This is an extrusion and I was hoping to "shorten" it but appear in line at the same time.  Is there a way to do this?  See attached.

One workaround is to create an orthographic view with a break, then project that view to isometric.

Thanks.  So the only difference is the jagged break lines don't show on the ortho view.  I can live with it.
