Borders & Title Blocks

Hi Gang,

I need some help, I am just about to start a new project, where the main
contractor has specified that a common Title Block and Border must be used
by all parties involved in the project. They have supplied me with a floppy
disc containing a cad file which has title blocks for A0, A1 & A3 drawing
sheets.

I am having problems inserting the cad file into a new idw template, where
am I going wrong, or is just not possible to do this.

Thanks in advance

Ally.

Are you starting the creation of a new titleblock and then inserting the
AutoCAD file with the AutoCAD icon in the sketch tools? Are you aware that
Titleblocks and borders are separate in Inventor?

For Title block do the following:
1) In AutoCAD, separate the title block from the border,
save both instance to a separate file,
eg: Border.DWG, Title.DWG, close AutoCAD
or ensure the file you wish to place in Inventor is not open.
2) Open a new defined Inventor drawing template
3) In the browser, right click on a title block under Title block
and select Edit. The title block is displayed on a temporary
sheet for editing.
4) Click on "Insert AutoCAD file", select the previously defined
Title.DWG and perform your modification.
Enter and define all text and parameter as needed.
5) Save Title block to another unique name.

Do the same with your customized border.

Good Luck

Clarification:
For item 3) alternative: Right click on Title Blocks,
select Define New Title Block.
Proceed as per item 4 etc.

Same applies to Custom Border.
