BOM Question

Can you choose to list some assemblies such as purchased parts on one single
line and other assemblies broken out to each individual part within the
assembly. Without Just editing by hand?

If you're running IV6 or IV 7 while in the Edit Parts List dialog box select
the plus sign on the same line as the assembly to expand the assembly.

I have a assembly with 5 sub assemblies ( All different assemblies), I have
made my .idw

I want to do a Master BOM were it will show the same .ipt and it give me a
total of it for the whole thing, not just the quantaty for that sub
abbembly. Is that even possible in Inventor without having to do manually
add rows. I think it does that in Desktop.

When you create your partslist or start ballooning. You need to select the
all parts version and not the top level version. There is no way too change
once it is started except with a new view.

That will take the "Mounting Block" that I have in the assembly 6 times in 2
different sub assemblies and give me a totla of 12?

Yes it will totally all parts under the top level assembly.

Just tried it.... Now the problem is weldment.iam's it lists each piece out.
I need it to show up in the BOM as a detail. Looks like there needs to be
more work done for Inventor 8.0

Can someone tell me how to get a complete BOM (not parts list)? I haven't
tried this in a while & using the Shift key to select all in the browser
doesn't get all the parts. It seems to me it used to get them all except
arrayed parts. I can't use Charls' BOMexTractor because I have custom
properties I need to export.
Thanx,

Why not create the partslist for the assembly in a dummy IDW with all
properties you want and then export it?

That was going to be the last resort. Thanks Kathy
