BOM question

Is it possible to override the quantity column of the BOM
short of defining a new column and entering all info
manually? I can do this in MDT and am fairly used to
using this feature on Gages that have multiple stations
where every part is not necessarily shown.

Nope. I use a custom column. Another alternative would be to create a
custom line entry and the hide the original line.

That really (edited) because MDT has that feature where you can
rmb on the quantity value and select "Do Not Calculate Value".
I guess AutoDesk decided that was a bad feature?

I think they just didn't count on someone wanting to change the default
quantity on a BOM entry. They don't think like engineers and designers.

"If it can't be changed, we want to change it."
"Change is our most important product."

I haven't tried to get a BOM (not parts list) in a while & it seems nearly
impossible now. Before, you had to select all occurrences in the browser of
every part. Holding the shift key would get them all except those in an
array. Now holding the shift key seems to select only some parts? How do you
get a full BOM for export without click, click, click........? I can't use
Charles' BOMexTractor because I have custom fields to export.

TIA,
