Bolted Connection Generator

I'm having problems with bolted connection, there are no TEMPLATES LIBRARIES
within the bolted connections dialogue box....My content centre libraries
are all present in Content Centre, I've even created my own library with
various published parts. But there is nothing shown when I go into Bolted
Connection.

Anybody have any ideas..., cheers

Hello Steve,

Templates in Bolted Connection are referring to templates of Bolted
Connection. Define Bolted Connection, select placement geometry, set
fasteners -> click Add. Bolted Connection template is added. If you want to
use it later on - define placement geometry, select template and click Set.

Regards,
- Lukas

Thanks for the reply Lukas,
The problem is I don't get any fasteners to choose from, I select the
geometry I wish to "bolt together" then nothing happens...no fastener
selection "pops up".

I understand you can see fasteneres in Content Center, correct?

If you click "Click to add a fastener" in BC, nothing happens? You don't get
bolts selection as shown on the picture?

Hello,

Bolted connection generator uses Content center libraries only, it doesn't
have any own Templates libraries.

If you want to use own CC library you have to author part first ( via
Component Authoring tool) and then publish it into your Read Write CC
library.

I am sending you a simple example of a bolt model. You can try to add it
into your library through the publish command. This model si already
authored an prepared for Publish command. Plese go through the publish tool
and fill in the appropriate data. After successful publish you can see the
bolt in List of bolts in Bolted Connection dialog.

Bolted Connection displays only parts in the list of parts that correspond
with thread parameters in the Thread area. See attached image.

FYI:I did this bold in R11 version.

Hello,

Could you check what you have selected in Thread area and in combo box in
the List of parts. These data are important for displaying parts/bolts in
the list.

Thread area:

Thread standard (ANSI, ISO)

Nominal Diameter ( M6, ...)

The List:

Combo box - Specify type of category (Hex, Round, ..)

See attached image - where I set the diameter value (small) Bolted
Connection cannot find any Bolts because bolts don't exist with this
diameter in CC.

The same case is with Combo box.

Hello,

"Click to add a fastener" is grayed out = You don't have a placement
geometry specified. See an attached image. You have to specify placement
geometry before you select bolt/fasteners. (And you need to be connected to
Content Center in order to see fasteners.)
