beveled cut out on the back of a strat

I have been working with Inventor for about a year now and I have yet to learn how to make a good smooth bevel.

I need to do the cut out on the back of a startocaster.

Pictures and IPT included.

I looked on you tube and could no

t find what I was looking for.

Thanks

Mark

You could Sweep a line along the arc creating a surface body that you could then use to Sculpt the bevel.

Post back if you can't figure out this solution, or if this solution isn't appropriate.

I recommend that you also install Service Packs 1 & 2 for 2014.

As I looked over the model I also noticed there were a fairly large number of missing Tangent Constraints (in my opinion) in Sketch2.

I would expect this to cause problems later on.

My training is very basic so alot of the basics get missed.

I will constrain the nodes you pointed out.

When you say "You could Sweep a line along the arc creating a surface body"

I am thinking a drawing then revolve cut.... I am going to do it now and see how it turns out.

I did notice that I am unable to flit th top face of the guitar. Is that because of the constraints?

Thanks for the help.

That, and the fact that you have double arcs not meeting at endpoints.

Unfortunately - it will be very difficult to fix now.  You need to develop a disciplined modeling approach that resolves problems as you create each sketch entity, rather than creating a whole bunch of stuff and then try to fix the problems.

Get lazy - do it right the first time.  There is no economy in skipping steps.

I started from scratch and fixed every issue I could find.

Thanks for the help.

I am trying to filet the edges and can not seem to get them to work.

I tried a sweep but am still having an issue.

Any ideas?

How does my work flow look on this one? Any advice?

I have learned so much with this project.

I love learning. What a powerful tool.
