better accuracy with 2D sketch

I'm new to Inventor 2D sketch and am not finding:

1) a way to draw fixed horizonal and vertical lines like F8 ortho of Autocad.

2) trying to tag a point to start and it starts away from where I want.

3) Does Inventor have the range of Osnaps like Autocad besides 'Constraints"

1. Inventor automatically creates horizontal and vertically constrained lines.

2. I don't know what that means?

3. Inventor has the same "osnaps" as AutoCAD except for quadrant which isn't needed.  Inventor creates these a geometry constraints automatically in the background once you learn the technique.

If you are having trouble with a particular sketch - I recommend you attach the *.ipt file here and someone will demonstrate the correct Inventor sketching technique.

(BTW - I almost never use ortho (F8) in AutoCAD either.  I prefer Polar and Otracking).

JD, I'm guessing that #2 refers to mouse up mouse down. Does AutoCad use the same pick method as IV or is it the other way around?

And a general rule of thumb - Inventor is not AutoCAD so try not to think of it as such.  Trying to work how you would in AutoCAD will only frustrate, so embrace the change instead of fight it.
