best option for a custom eyebolt?

The ones in the library are nothing like what I'm working on. The eye is not a closed loop (just a bend in the metal). This doens't have to look exactly right, as long as it's cylindrical and the length and diameter of the eye is dimensioned. What's the fastest way to do this? I tried sweeping a circle along a path, but it would not allow me to do so.

Thanks much in advance

Got it to work. I guess I have to start new parts from scratch instead of inside the project to avoid problems. I'd still like to make the eye circular and constrain diameter. Let me know what you think the best option is.

Thanks much in advance

That looks pretty bad and isn't constrained?

What is the purpose of Work Plane1?  Isn't it a duplication of the XZ Plane?

Work plane 1 is for the circle to be swept. Do you mean I can make a sketch without a workplane? If so how?

More significant to me is getting the eye sorted out. Suggestions on this? Again, it needs to be an arc of a little under 360 degrees that is smoothly attached to the shaft

Thanks again

Check the attachment I added.

Done in student version - so delete after analysis of technique.

Isn't Work Plane 1 simply a duplication of the XZ Plane?
Did you create a work plane for Sketch1?  (the correct answer is no)

What do you see in #4 response.

Here it is again - I renamed it so you don't overwrite your original.

ok, i get it now, many thanks

One more question - how do I adjust the depth of the z-plane along the shaft of the bolt? Unless I start the sweep from the beginning of the shaft it won't work.

Thanks again
