Bob,
There is no problem with the edges being of different lengths. The bend
will basically be the same width as the shorter length. However as the
edges are not parallel the bend will not work. To make them parallel just
project geometry from the 1st sketch to the 2nd and use the parallel
constraint. I've attached as screen shot as I'm using IV10.
