BEND ORDER ANNOTATION??

Hi there

Working through Sheet Metal 2 tutorial on WikiHelp After successful Rip of Lofted Flange. I created Folded Part & now I want to "BEND ORDER ANNOTATION" but it is greyed out. I.e. It wont let me select it. As this is the next step, & needed to continue with rest of tutorial. I could do with some assistance please.

Kind regards

Hi,

The "Bend ordwe anotation" command works fine on my side, please have a look at the attachment.

Please follow the steps to check.

1. Confirm the build, the latest build is 190.

2. Reboot system and launch Inventor again.

3. Try to add "Bend order anotation".

any more question please do not hesitate to contact me.

Hello Xun.zhang

Thank you for your quick response before. I enjoyed watching the video. Unfortunately

my Build is 160 Release 2012 RTM - Date: Tue 03/01/2011, & so my problem with "Bend Order Annotation" still remains greyed out. I believed until now, that I had the latest student version of Inventor. Now I'm not sure. Is there any way of getting a free update to this problem. I can't continue with that Tutorial as I believe I would need to be able to use that command.

Kind regards

You can download Service Pack 1 for Inventor 2012.
Search Google.

Hello J.D.Mather

Thank you. I will look into it.

Would I then have everything I need to complete the Tutorials?

Kind regards

Did you use a Die Formed Lofted Flange or did you use a Press Brake Lofted Flange?

A Die Formed flange doesn't have individual bends - so that tool would be unavailable.

You used a Die Formed Lofted Flange.
What type did the Tutorial say to use (default is Press Brake)?

I finallllllly had to go look up the url after asking you several times (off-line)

http://wikihelp.autodesk.com/Inventor/enu/2012/Help/2144-Tutorial2144/2145-Inventor2145/2691-Sheet_M...

says to use Press Brake step 7.

This is one feature you can't simply edit and change - you will have to delete and recreate the Lofted Flange.

Hi 20112679,

Is it possible that your file doesn't have a flat pattern generated?

If this is the case you can use this to create a flat pattern:

On the ribbon, click Sheet Metal tabFlat Pattern panel Create Flat Pattern.

If you have a flat pattern and the Bend Order Annotation tool is still greyed out, you might post a screen capture here to help others see what you're seeing on screen.

I hope this helps.
Best of luck to you in all of your Inventor pursuits,
Curtis

Edit: Nevermind, it looks like JDMather figured it out while I was typing.

The OP sent me the file off-line.
I immediately noticed that it was Die Formed.
