Base View Not Showing Corretly

When creating a new view of flighting on a tube part of it shows up like it should and part shows up as dashed lines and when you turn on "shaded" the parts that are dashed do not shade.  All of the flighting parts come out of the same file and the tube is from a different file.

Check the Bill of Materials in the assembly.  The problem piece is most likely set to Reference under the BOM Structure.

Click in the box as though you were going to type in it - instead you'll get a dropdown list.  Pick Normal, unless one of the others suits your situation better.

I found out how to get it changed.  This is the first time I have had to do that in 6yrs working with Inventor.  I will have to try to remember it the next time.
