Balloon from middle of part

We are having this issue. We have a section from a beam and there is a plate inside of it.

We can't show part number because there is no line in that section.

If I make a hole to that plate, yes I can show it. But we don't want to make holes to every part.

It would be nice to show that plate from middle of that part.

I can move that balloon small dot but after that it won't update part number.

Any help?

Not sure if this will help because i can't really make out what you want to balloon, but here's a trick i sometimes use when ballooning parts that aren't visible:

Set the view style to "hidden lines"
Balloon the item
Set the view style back to "hidden line removed"

This way it will be attached to the invisible part and update accordingly.
If the arrow gets detached, you'll have to repeat the steps.

Thanks for your reply.

I didn't explain my problem clearly.

Maybe this image helps to understand.

So I would like to make that balloon on red rectangle.

Ah ok, i think i understand.
Unfortunately Inventor isn't capable of doing that (yet).

There is a post on the Ideastation for this, you might want to add a kudo to it so the chances of it getting into inventor increase.

OK, that's what I thought.

Thanks anyway!

One way:
Edit the part, create a closed sketch on the surface to balloon, say a circle.
Use the sketch to split the surface. This will give you visible circle in the idw/dwg.
After ballooning hide the circle. The balloon will stay attached.
