Balloon arrow placement

As can be seen from my attached file, I have been trying to place a balloon on to the left of an O-ring, but however many points I select on the left side of the O-ring. the arrow jumps to the right-hand side everytime! I want this balloon to be on the left!

Any ideas?

You MIGHT try opening the assembly and rotating the
O-Ring approx 180 degrees. Have never tried that myself,
but I have had similar placement problems (usually resolved
by picking a different profile edge of the part).

Thanks Bob S, that worked!

Still annoying that only a certain point of a circular edge can be picked...

I can think of plenty of other items in IV that annoy
me alot more than balloon arrow placement 😉

I run into this every day - it drives me crazy. It happens on sperical
surfaces. I think it started in R7(?).

Try this

Place the arrowhead where you want it. It will obviously jump around to
a spot where you don't want it. Now drag the arrow and replace it to
area that it just jumped too. The arrow should jump to another spot, Do
this until it lands at the spot you want.
