Yesterday I saved and checked in Vault my working file. Today I opened checking out from Vault the file but good part of the yesterday work was gone. I did try to recover the work from the back up in the "Oldversion" folder with yesterday datum on but there was the same file as the file I opened today.
Is there an other "back up" call possible?
Unless your company has another backup system for your vault I would say you have covered all of the backup possibilities.
What I don't get is if you checked the file into the vault, then that should be the current. Are you sure that you didn't get any errors during check in that prevented it from going in that you didn't take notice of? What I would do is in the vault client, look at the history of the file and see the time and date to make sure it coincides with what you remember being the latest.
Something else I would try is in your local vault working folder, move this file, then recheck it out of the vault just to make sure.

Is it possible that when you checked the file out, you got an older version of it from the Vault? Did you open it from your working location, or directly form the Vault? When you checked it out did you do a Check Out, or Get Revision? Were you promted that the Vault version was newer?
Probably missed something but that's all I can think to ask at the moment.
