axis

Hi

i have attached an image of my axis. the one in the bottom left is the main axis and the other one is in the sketch on the top plane looking down (as per the main axis). why is the sketch axis different? Doesnt this mean that im drawing on the wrong plane if im assuming im looking down from the top?

My sketch axis is looking from the left........

Thanks

Nigel

I never display the sketch (local) coordinate system and have never worried about it.

Over the years I have seen others express concern over this - but it has never caused me any problem to ignore the local coordinate system.  The only time I have seen trouble from others is when they try to manipulate the UCS.

Hi Nigel

It doesn't  matter, really. The good thing about having UCS icon ON while editing a sketch is that you can quickly see what constrain to apply (horizontal or vertical that's it) to a line. Or to points if you wish to line them up.

Best Regards,

Igor.

Hmmmmmm I get what you're saying however, I wonder if this is what is responsible for part orientation when opened separately? I have been getting parts that the front is the top etc etc. even if I change the home front top to front, that part orientation is different....

Nigel

Can you attach a file here that exhibits this behavior?
