Automatic view Rep. of single parts in the main assembly

Hi all,

I am having some trouble with a medium size assembly. I explain. I have to create a single part drawing of an assembly with all the chamfers and weld preparations, so i am creating a view Rep. for each single part. But this operation is long and boring  if done manually, so i am trying to use some i-Logic tools that i ve found in internet to create automatic view Rep. for each single part, but no one of these tools is working for me.

Someone has, please, some working i-Logic tool for this purpose?

thanks a lot for any help

Cheers

Alessandro

My steps

Get the assembly to a certain point, finished or first draft, your choice

Open a bill of materials in the .iam file

goto parts only

create a custom property columm, I call it BOM #, name can be whatever you choose

I then copy and paste item # into that columm, this means it matches up to the way you would normally do a BOM on an .idw file

(BOM # then becomes a custom property of every part in your assembly )

Create a "parts only" bom in my idw

Delete the "Item" columm

Add a columm and make it "BOM  #" so that that custom property gets used

Edit style of balloons such that it is "BOM # " not item

Now you can bring individual parts into your IDW and the balloon  matches the BOM on the IDW

No view representations to worry about

I always do my subassemblies as subassemblies so if I bring them into a separate sheet the parts only BOM can be put on that sheet and the balloon numbers will match. The idw I am working on now has 10 separate BOMs in it, all pertaining to the assy on the sheet wil no filters or any other workarounds

Biggest effort is keeping the BOM # custom property current

But just before you are ready to print the idw go to assy file and do the copy and paste thing again from "ITEM" to "BOM #". All the balloons and BOMs will update automatically

Hope this helps
