Autodesk, Saving in R8 revisited

Ok, I transferred 2.77 gig of files from the server to my workstation. It
took about 15 minutes. That's about 3.077 megabytes a second, average. If I
save a 1.766 megabyte file in Inventor. Why does it take 30 seconds to a
minute when it used to be about 5 to 10 seconds in R6?

Or are my figures wrong?
