UNFOLD seems bugy as hell
I have parts that randomly stop computing...i can have these parts working for days, then suddenly one morning...fail fail fail !
The top level assembly has been rebuilt many times over several days without issue, then randomly (or what appears to be random, i cant find a procedure that reproduces the issue consistenly) it fails.
Inventor 2012 SP2 (from plant design suite 2012 ultimate)

far out...its enough to send you nuts
couple of restarts later...no other changes
kablamy...computes
well not quite kablamy
I have to open each of the offending parts individually and rebuild twice
or drag the eop up to the unfold then edit it then accept ....
I noticed that you have Extruded features before the Unfold rather than sheet metal features.
Can you attach the file here?
Why are you using Extrusions to create the part?
This has been explained somewhere else here - I forget where. The preview uses a different less accurate alogorithm so sometimes you can get a preview but when you hit ok the more accurate algorithm fails. Same happens when trying to apply a FG member to a spline, it previews but wont create it. Also for complex sweeps. Fast preview but really slow creation.
been soooo busy...just got back to fixing these.
Once I converted the extrusions to sheet metal faces and thickenses! (using same sketches etc etc) the compute error seems to have disapeared...much more stable now.
I should have know better, but when under the pump, sometimes bad habits form.
Cheers for the Heads Up JD
