Autodesk Inventor trial - wont open

Hi 

 

Inventor 2014 won't open after many attempts and frustrating hours.

 

I keep getting "Application unable to start correctly (0xc0000142). Click OK to close application'.

 

Have tried re-installing both the Professional and standard versions to no avail.

Autodesk Vault, ReCap, 360 etc however are opening fine.

 

If anyone can HELP!!!

1. What OS?

2. Do you have MS Excel installed on this machine and run at least once before attempting the Inventor Install?

3. Did you turn off anti-virus during install?

4. Did you set UAC to lowest setting during install?

5. Do you have administrator rights on this machine?

Do you have adobe acrobat? Seems the dll' for the 3d capture portion of it are causing problems..

 

I had the EXACT problem with Autocad this year.. Inventor was fine but any attempts to open any Autocad product and I got that exact same error..

 

I used the tool noted here (autoruns) to simply turn off the offending dll file.

That's the error you generally see when trying to run on windows8.1

 

Please install Sp1 http://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/inventor-products/downloads/caas/downloads/content/autodesk-in...

 

then install Update 3 - http://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/inventor-products/downloads/caas/downloads/content/update-3-fo...

 

Then follow the registration instructions in http://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/inventor-products/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticl...
