Hi,
I am currently needing to create some Inventor Studio renders (still shots). The assembly in question is a small pergola attached to a wall. In the past I've had to work with other software (mailny Solidworks). The principles in setting up the renders are quite similar, but creating a 'scene' for the current assembly is a bit more difficult.
Has anyone got any tips for (easily) setting up a basic scene to create natural lighting? I realise that most of the pre-set inventor lighting scemes are set-up for highlighting a product as if on display.
Sorry, this question is a bit open-ended, but I always seem to struggle to easily set-up rendering scenes.
Thanks,
Ross
Hi Ross,
You can try the following settings to get a global ligth
Create a new light style.
Delete/disable any lights.
If you create one from another style, delete/disable all of the lights.
Now, make the settings reflect this:
General Tab
Enable Sky Light
Intensity = 90-100
Indirect Tab
Ambience = 40
Bounced Light Quality = Medium
Shadows Tab
Turn on Soft Shadows
Highest quality Density = 80
Save it as Global Lighting

FANTASTIC! That worked a treat. With a few slight alterations here and there, and a dull directional light I was able to get just what I needed.
Thankyou.
