Autodesk Inventor Publisher 2011

Hi,

I need the clarifications on following.

1) When I try to open Inventor 2010 main assembly in Publisher 2011, the error message like "Insert file failed".

I have no issues to open one of the Sub-assembly.

But, remaining sub-assemblies are getting opened.

See attached file for Error screen shot.

2) Do we have any option to Rearrange the snap shots which have been already created.

Please helpme out if, any ane does have any clue on above.

Regards,

Srinivasu

Which version of Publisher are you using R1 or R0?

What method are you brining in the models?

Are you placing more than one assembly into the ipb as opposed to the entire assembly?

You can move Snapshots with Cut and Paste but not with cursor drag and reorder.  Beware the effects are not the same as just reordering but may mess up your desired movement.

Hi Mark,

Thank yuo for your reply.

I am using the R1

Just I opened one assembly at a time and

I was tried to open the Inventor Assembly (.iam)  thru the following options.

1) Create new file

2) Insert

But, both the options same error will be observed.

Srinivasu.

When you open the assembly files by themselves inside Inventor are there any errors or missing links?

When you say you open one assembly at a time do you mean that you put muliple files (iam) into Publisher not the overall assembly which would include all the lower level subs?

Yes mark....You are right.

I tried to open an Inventor assembly 2010 (.iam) in Publisher 2011 R1 which does have the combination of sub assemblies and parts.

Srinivasu.

What is your total amount of parts in the assembly?  Total file size of all the parts?

Hi Mark,

Assembly file size is only 180 kb.

I have observed that following issues while opening this assembly in Inventor.

1) Some of the Inventor parts are 2010 & some of them are 2008.

2) some of the part references from different project

I don't know the which one is causes for problem. Hence, Publisher is able recognizes those parts.

Do we any solutions for above like without keeping all the files in the same project?

Regards,

Srinivasu.

I have another question like

Do we have any option to open .ipn files to Publisher 2011 R1?

Srinivasu.

IPNs do not go into Publisher

Try and put all your files into the same project as well as migrating them to the same release.  Do a pack a go first as a test to not damage anything in your data store during this test.
