You can use AutoCAD title blocks directly in Inventor .dwg files in 2008,
and attribute values are editable in Inventor.
I wouldn't say that it eliminates the need to create an Inventor title block
as there is still some functionality in an Inventor title block that AutoCAD
blocks don't have in Inventor. The AutoCAD block support was added to help
folks who need to supply DWG files with a specific title block (or border,
or some other block) use them directly, without translation.

I heard that its possible to use an autocad title block in Inventor 2008
.idw files. I would like to know if the attributes attached to the title
block will function correctly if used in the inventor .idw file? If they do,
does this eliminate the need to create a .idw title block in Inventor?
