I have an AutoCAD 3D model assembly with many 3D blocks in it.
Now i want to take this AutoCAD 3D model to inventor.
When I import I need AutoCAD 3D block names ....same names to be converted as inventor part file names ...
presently it is giving some other automated names...
but i need the same AutoCAD block names as inventor part file name.
can somebody help me please.
To import AutoCAD 3D objects into Inventor, you need to make sure you have 3DSolids in your AutoCAD drawing.
Using Blocks will not work, Inventor will ignore AutoCAD Blocks.
If there is more than one solid in your drawing, Inventor will import all the solids into an Assembly.
If the drawing is called "Solid" then each parts will be called Solid1, Solid2.......etc.
Jon.
Thanks for the support. But we have a common extension "step" to bring inventor assembly as AutoCAD 3D model...using 'step' extension. We get the onventor parts as blocks in AutoCAD when bring inventor file exported to step and imported to AutoCAD.....
I would like to know if any such similer transfer in possible back from AutoCAD to inventor with AutoCAD blocks as inventor parts....
Like I showed in my Video, you cannot import AutoCAD Blocks into Inventor.
You have to explode them in AutoCAD so they are native 3D Solids.
Because they are just 3D Solids, they have no name and therefore do not get named in the browser in Inventor.
