Attach Balloon moves Sketch Symbol

I use a prompted entry sketch symbol, attached to balloons, to indicate
quantities.
I placed my balloons, then added the Qty symbol to each balloon.
I then decided to add another balloon, using Attach Balloon.
This resulted in one of the Qty symbols, moving to the newly attached
balloon.

Is this as designed?

In short, the answer is it - By design, you cannot attach the symbol to an
individual balloon, but instead, you attach it to the balloon set. When you
have only 2 balloons in your set, things APPEAR as though they are attached
individually.( more details below)
I am sure you understand that what you are doing is not a recommended or
supported workflow. The recommended workflow is to use the ballon style that
supports quantity. But I'm sure that you have a reason to do it with Prompt
entry Sketch symbol.

I will log a wishlist in our system to allow the attaching of objects to
individual balloons.

Details:
The Balloon SET basically has 4 control points ( North, East, West, South).
Whether there is 1 balloon or 10 in the set, it dosen't matter -the set has
only 4 control points. (see attached word doc for explanation with some
pics)

I hope this explination helps. let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks! I understand about using the proper balloon style and will try to
convince others here that we should change that practice.
We also use that sketch symbol for other prompted text notes, which attach
to the balloon (so it follows the balloon).

I was able to delete the symbol, from the wrong balloon and re-attach to the
one I wanted.

Thanks!

Vijay,
This has been on the wishlist since version 5 when I originally made a request for it. Will more requests help?

While I understand that this is not a recommended workflow, there is literally no other tool to do this in a useful way. If we use the balloon style with qty, and we need to balloon an item that appears in several different locations with different quantities, then what we get a set of balloons each referencing the total quantity. Or we just drop dumb text near the balloon and rearrange everything if we have to shift balloons or views around. If you have a better suggestion, please let us know.

Just as an FYI, there are also to control points at the mid points of the vertical sides of the bounding box.
