Assembly part not moving

I have been working on an assembly and have added a constraint which aligns the work axis of one circular part with another. Previously , I had been able to 'click and drag' one component along the axis of the other, but now it will not move. What could be the reason for this?

Tom,

Could you zip and post a simplified one so I can help take a look?

Thanks,

Hi Jacob
See attached zip file. I want to be able to move the nozzle away from the body, by clicking & dragging.

You have to add the parts also, not only the assembly file.

You have to put the parts in the zip file too

Ok, I found that they are inventor samples, I only had to reference
the parts again.

I have no problem in sliding the nozzle up and down.

If your trying to move the body..it won't move because its grounded. (right mouse click on it and uncheck "grounded")
The nozzle slides freely along the axis in the files you posted.

Seems ok to me. Have you tried to delete the constraints and select them again?

Make sure you haven't changed the selection priority to Feature or Face.

Restart Inventor and see if the problem persists.

Reboot the computor and see if the problem persists.

Hi JD
How do I check that?

Selection Filters

I believe if you followed the other suggestions the filters would have been reset.

You're absolutely right JD. It works after a restart, so the priority must have got changed somehow.

Thanks

I'm having the same issue, and restart / reboot does not fix it. This started happening to me suddenly out of the blue. We have INV 2014. Please help, thanks.
