Assembly Cut on a sub-assembly that can move

I have an assembly with a wall sub-assembly that contains parts: plaster on both sides and a frame.patterned out with frame generator. If I place a window sub-assembly and constrain it to the wall, I understand that I can do an assembly cut and add/remove particpants. However, everytime I move the window to a different spot, I need to constantly add participants.

Is there a way to drop in the Window sub-assembly and automatically cut away the plaster and the frame but still leave the window assembly parts in tact?

If not, is there a way that when I do an assembly cut and then move the window that it will automatically cut away whatever is in the path of the profile, except for parts in the window assembly file?

What is the best way to achieve this result?

It would help to see your files. You can add all parts from the assembly (less your window frame) with Add Participant even if not affected by the original cut.

Thanks, I'll upload the files to drop box as they are too big to attach.

I thought about adding all participants that are required to cut but if the wall changes in size, then the pattern increases and I have to keep adding participants, or if it reduces, I think I'd get errors as the bodies participating have disappeared.

I can only thinking on deleting the extrude cut (wihtout the sketch) and do the extrusion again. That way it interactively picks up intersecting parts, not a great solution depending on how oftern the window position changes.

Maybe some ilogic to delete the feature and remake it for you?

I can't think of anything else.

Edit:

From my point of view the command is incomplete. We should be able to add subassemblyes just the way we add components to participate in the cut operation.

Thanks.

Need to think about how to do it with iLogic, maybe setup an iTrigger
