assembly constraint help

hey guys,

i've been working on this project all week, but i just can't seem to make it past my latest issue. i need to insert a curved member into a cylindrical hole. thus far, i have been very unsuccessful in my attempts to constrain this geometry. i'm using inventor 2008 and i have attached a screenshot of my assembly in progess.

thanks in advance

Did you try using some work features on the coil as constraint reference?

i think i just had a slight breakthrough by using a work axis and mating this axis to the axis of the hole. i put up another pic. i think my next course of action will be to set up a flush condition to the suface of the black pin head and a work plane perpendicular to the coil.

thanks for the reply Message was edited by: tschase
