Thanks Alex, I have used that fix, think it cleared up the TestASPNetStatic error. But the main problem is the ASPX file failed to run at URL: http://localhost/TestASP/TestASPNet.aspx.
Have tried this fix mentioned in forums:
This error may occur if .NET 2.0 is installed prior to the installation of Microsoft® Internet Information Services (IIS), and the ASP.NET account does not have the proper permissions on the IIS Metabase.
To correct this issue
Click Start menu (Windows) > Run.
In the Run dialog box, enter cmd and then click OK.
On the command line, enter the following:
cd %systemroot%\microsoft.net\framework\v2.0.50727\
On the command line, enter the following, depending on your environment:
Windows XP: aspnet_regiis.exe -ga ASPNET
On a server: aspnet_regiis.exe -ga "%computername%\Network Service"
Note: On some servers, entering aspnet_regiis.exe -ga "Network Service" is sufficient. On localized servers you have to use the localized "Network Service" user name.
Enter IISRESET.
Run the pre-checks again to verify that the error has been resolved.
I dont think I am entering localized server name/network service correct as Command does not recognise file.
Not sure what to enter as I am single user on Vista system.
I have just tried to find error by entering: URL: http://localhost/TestASP/TestASPNet.aspx in to browser and got message: Access denied. (see attached file for complete details)
I presume I do not have correct permissions for file. Tried to change permissions Properties/Security Tab but wont let me change them. I am single user/administrator so dont know why this happens?
Hopefully someone out there can advise me on this. Please.
