appearance

Hello,

 

I have 2 parts.Part 5 is the shape i require.How do i get the same appearance on part-19 ...please see attached picture...

 

I am stuck on ideas on how to get the same appearance on the side...what do i need to change or do to get the same appearance?

Part 5 on the right (at Extrusion9), part 9 on the right.

Notice that these edges are in different places on the two parts.

From an "Appearance" side, they both use the same material with the Default finish with the RGB values . The Part5 is lacking fillets on a number of the edges which make it look different.

I want the edge in the picture on the right to be in the same place on the picture on the left....i cannot get them the same for both parts....i want to use the part in the left picture but the edge in the picture on the right is in the correct position...please see attached

Have you gone through the tutorials?

I recommend you put this project aside for a while and go through these

You should not be using Split, Loft, Delete Face on this.

I agree with JD on this. Go through the correct part feature by feature and follow the methodology that they used to create the part.

A question though please

 

Why would you not use Split,Loft and delete face....what should i use as i would like to get the correct technique

How will i know what is the correct tools to use?

More complicated work than what you need to create this simple geometry.

Hopefully someone will come along and remodel the part(s) how they should have been done.

Ok i re-done and did not use the Delete Face and Split tools as you suggested however i used a Loft as i could get the shape any other way.You mentioned simple geometry so how much simpler then what i used to create this part.

 

Have i still over complictaed this part?

That is a pretty good model, but it doesn't match the original if that was the intent.

I just re-looked at the part and replies you guys kindly posted.Like you said it did not need the delete face/split so i tried to model better
