Anyone made a link chain ? Need help...Please

I have allready put the links together and I can't get the two ends together. Also, when I move the chain, I have to move it link by link. I have over 200 links. Is there any faster way to get this thing movin'?
Any help would be appriecated.

What kind of chain? If Drive chain I think there is one on Charles site. www.cbliss.com
If coil chain. Look in the old Customer files back on 1-23-03 I reposted one made by
Quinn. Maybe with Quinn's OK I will add it to my site.

Fun stuff. 8^)

Charles has it on his hardware page.... at least I'm assuming it's the same
one.

I wonder if the angular constraints (which mysteriously act as "limits")
still work even though there are a few reports of strangeness with angular
constraints in R7?!?

So it is. 8^) I didn't expect it to be in with the iPart stuff, so I didn't even look
there.

Thanks but thats not the kind of chain i m lookin for. I need a pitch chain, like a bicycle chain. Got any of those?

Kent,
I can't use those beacause the chain goes on a sprocket. Any other advice you can give me?

Are you looking to show the chain in motion? I would strongly advise trying to
do this. The math required makes it not worth the effort of a pretty picture.

I need to show it in motion because it rotates parts on our paintline and will be used in simulations and such. The math isn't really what I am worried about. I just can't get the darn thing to move. Any other suggestions?

You can put a motion constraint between the two sprockets with the correct ratio and everything else will move correctly. Forget about moving the chain. It would be sooo processor intensive it's not going to give the results you want and nobody will notice. If you really have to have it move I would do an animated gif to simulate motion. J.D.

If you are REALLY interested in doing this see the topic..

Drive a Chain around Sprockets? (I can) on 5/21

I'd say it'll take you a good solid few weeks or so to get it working 100%
on a chain of any decent length...
