Anyone know where to find this part?

See CF same topic. Linear bushing with a post or thread or a swivel
connection. It allows rotary and linear motion. I concocted a trick design
if only something like this existed. I've looked all over but couldn't find
anything. I'd make it custom except I'm going to need a LOT of them...

Thanks,

Or could there be a bigger hole opposite the stud so it could be put in from the backside?

Last one I promise Thinking about it a little more, why not just a small male rod end
instead?

Not sure what you meant by the PEM studs. I was looking to see if someone
made a prefabed unit like this. Basically it's a linear bushing with a
pivot point. Just haven't found one in the normal avenues yet.

A small rod end wouldn't work as rod ends are made to rotate and align, not
travel linearly. This unit will have to travel linearly long the shaft as
well.

But thanks for the input...

Look in CF under yours. Could that be made to work?

As soon as I looked at it I said to myself, that's just another linear
bushing...but then I looked at it again. I could put a plate on the bottom
with the stud and turn it on it's side.

Geeze, I must have looked at 100 of these in my search and it never occurred
to me. Sometimes you just have to back away from the problem and get other
people to jump in. (All my coworkers cut out early today )

Thanks Cory!!

You could do as Kent said - drill a hole right thru the pillow block and use
a FHCS.

I guess I'm dense because it looks just like a linear bearing with a rod end on the shaft. Get a Thompson linear bearing with an Aurora rod end?

Man you guys are just too fast.

I thought http://www.curtisuniversal.com/ had them, but no such thing.

Then I looked through a Nook catalog and just as Cory mentioned, perhaps a
modified linear bearing would probably work. http://www.nookind.com/

You can get the linear bearing by itself to press into your own block. http://www.industrialsupplyco.com/Catalog/BRGLINEAR.pdf

I know what you mean. Actually the funny thing is a *very* similar part is
on the clutch linkage on my vette. Of course I'd end up paying $50 each
from the dealer

Rich,

Yes I knew I could make on up but I could have sworn I say something like
this as a purchased part.

No biggie, thanks for the help guys...

Are you sure the same part isn't used on a Citation or something? I'm sure it would be much cheaper if you bought it under that part numbers. Vette's are similar to Chevy Citations aren't they?

Don't know what you need in the way of characteristics and it's probably way
too "shade tree", but if 'twere me, I'd consider using a modified brass tee
plumbing fitting (?).

Not knowing your loading, sizing or environmental, I'd probably just jam
a GarLock bushing into another rod end. -Bill

No, this is going to be reciprocating fairly fast and fairly often over a
long distance. I think I've got it licked with Cory's idea..

I knew that would get a comment out of a Vette owner LOL.
