Anyone have any ideas what to do with this part?

I got this monster of a part and I have no idea on what to do with it. I did some work on it and you just suppress or remove it to see the file in its original state. I removed two hickups just by using delete face. And that was no problem. However you'll see a big circle kind of thing in the middle. I have no idea on what to do with that thing. I tried removing it with delete face but to no luck. I tried cutting it out but then I don't know how to fill the gap up again. I don't know. This seems way past my level of knowledge. So I figured I would ask you, the people in here with infitite knowledge.

Thanks a lot for any advice and help you can provide!

I would start over from scratch.

That "big circle kind of thing" will need to be a placed Punch feature.

If you want to get a flat pattern without the punch, perhaps this can help.

But some further work is needed with bend radii.

I just tried that and I didn't quite get the results I was hoping for. I think I'll have to accept defeat on this part.

Now the cleaned-up part with flat pattern.

Do you mind saving it as a step? I'm kicking it old school with the 2014 version.
