I am looking for suggestions on making my files more mobile and was wondering what everyone (if anyone) was using here. I am looking to have access to all of the files for our recent projects from my desktop, laptop, iPad, and iPhone without endless copying and file management.
Anyone using Dropbox (most often suggested by non-AD users)?
Does anyone here use AutoDesk 360 and is it just for AD file types? (I only tried to use it to get DWFx's on my phone a couple of times and it only worked once).
Can the new AutoDesk 360 Mobile view native IV files (.iam's, etc.) or would I have to make a current DWFx with every save?
Anything else you guys might recommend?
I'd love to be able to have a copy of everything in the project folder on our server synced with this mystical "cloud". There is no chance that we would ever move everything off the server. I would prefer to not have to remember to copy things where they need to go.
I just want to be able to sit in a meeting and know I can access any of the project files and either view them (iPhone, iPad) or actually edit them/use them (Laptop) depending upon which device, which file type, and whichever software I am using at the time (Word, Acrobat, IV, AutoCAD, etc.).
If you update Inventor to 2013, you could save and send to Cloud for the ipt, iam, and file folder together.
For the sharing right, you could see the link as below:
Im not really impressed with 360. When i upload files and try to look at them on my phone sometimes it can take a whole day before the file is prepared and able to be viewed. It is nice for uploading/downloading files though...
