Announcing the NEW Autodesk Discussion Groups (Beta)

Our new Beta discussion groups are up and ready for action. We've listened
to your feedback, and have responded with a radically improved http
experience. For the next two weeks, we want to give you the opportunity to
preview the new experience and let us know what you think.

Improvements include:
- Watches: ability to monitor threads and receive e-mail updates
- Spell checking for posts
- Ability to search individual groups
- Preservation of formatting in posts
- Attachments in all forums
- Improved login/registration
- Elimination of frames (allows direct linking to topics)

To enter the beta discussion groups go to:
http://www.autodesk.com/discussionbeta
(Use your existing discussion group login or register as a new user)

Please provide feedback at http://www.autodesk.com/discussionbeta_feedback

Note: content is perishable!
All beta discussion group content (messages, topics, logins, preferences,
etc.) may be removed at any time and will be deleted prior to production
launch.

Thanks in advance for your input.

Initial feed back, it seems a lot less flexible than NNTP, can't sort on
date, vastly more white space, difficult to see 10's of headers at
once. I hope that this experiment is not planned to be a replacement
for nntp.

Charles

It is my understanding that NNTP will be supported also when it is
released.

Charles and everyone else -

Thanks for taking a look at the Beta. Bang it hard!! so any
glitches can be fixed prior to rollout. Be sure to send your
feedback to http://www.autodesk.com/discussionbeta_feedback so
the Web Team will see your comments.

We will still support nntp access to all forums, providing users with a
choice of viewing/interacting with the same content either through your
newsreader or your web browser. For the beta, we have not enabled nntp
(yet) since the newsreader experience will not be changing.

Will you be stripping out HTML for NNTP users who's readers don't
support HTML viewing?
