Analyze bolts in FEM

Hello,

I have been using NX Nastran for FEM analysis of models in the past few years.

At the moment I am using Inventor for this I am struggeling to find a good way to represent a bolt assembly in my FEM calculations.

Normally a bolted connection is just represented by an axis of 1D elements where after calculating I can perfectly get the force that will come onto the bolt.

I don't find a way of doing this in Inventor...

Any suggestions?

Hi,
If you used Nastran in the past then you should use
Autodesk Simulation Mechanical now.
In Inventor Simulation you don't have a bolt wizard like in the higher FEM Packages.
