Am I stupid or is it "As Designed"

Okey Dokey, here's a quick one for you all (I hope) on IDW Templates.

Customer requires quite customised drawing sheets as they are wanting to use IV on its own, not
exporting to Illustrator to create the fancy documentation which breaks associativity. Essentially
this is 5 A4 portrait drawing sheets to show assembled piece of furniture, exploded view and some
individual details. 2 Views per sheet (vertically) with some bitmaps to show company logo and some
really nice shaded in areas all around the sheet. Looks absolutely identical to the Adobe
Illustrator assembly instructions, so I save as Template.

Create new IDW using said template and all my bitmaps and nice shaded area fills have been stripped
off. Is this "As Designed" and I will have to go back and do all this fancy artwork in a Border, or
should Inventor allow you to use additional sketch information in a Template?

TIA (looks like a busy weekend recreating template)

John

I just tried saving a template with a sketch and it didn't show up when I used it for a
new file. Guess it doesn't really surprise me that they act similar to sketched symbols
and wont stay visible in a template file.

That one has always annoyed me. If I place a sketch or symbol in the
template it should show up as a default.

Well I've recreated as borders and all is OK.
