AIS10 Create In-Place Component, naming

Hi all, I work alot in huge assemblies where I create a lot of In-Place
Components, these are usually pipe segments (extruded circle)
I don't need these to have a specific part name or anything, I just need to
create them fast, there might be hundreds of them. With AIS 9 this was no
problem, it starded with naming the part "part1.ipt" and then followed with
"part2.ipt" etc. etc This is not what happens in AIS10, whenever I open the
iam, the numbering is reset to part1....so I have to manually find what part
number I've reached...

In project options the setting for use unique file names is set to Yes
Please help!

Regards,
Jorgen

Jorgen,
Thank you for letting us know about this.
I confirmed the behavior you described, and
logged this into our produce database as DID 659162.

How about verifying the problem I mentioned before regarding
the in-place component problem, whereby the name you type in
is wiped out and reset to Part1 if you browse for a template file
after typing in the name? See my post titled:
IV10 Create In-Place Component BUG!!

I would think they would be related? I have also tried submitting a
support request to report this issue, but I don't think the guy I talked
to really realized what the problem I was refering to was. The
support request number is 1-71816513.

Bob,

Thank you for reporting your issues/concerns.

The issue you posted was handled by Ravi (PS team), and
logged in our database as DID 659131 already.
An AVI screen capture was attached in this DID and
it highlights the issue quite clearly.

Both 659162 (Jorgen's) and 659131 (Yours) are
being investigated by the development team (and those
DIDs are X-Referenced in the database internally).

Thanks again for your help.
Best,

Hi, any chance of seeing a hotfix for this ? I'm in a big project right now
with 2300+ files and counting...
Having to manually name every file I produce is very time consuming. Also,
I've allready managed to give many files identical names, thus spending a
lot of time "cleaning" up the mess. I don't have time for this 😞

Regards,
Jorgen
