AIP10 - Missing menu option

Hi All,

Has anyones else noticed the right-click menu's in AIP are missing options? Most noticable is the Point Snap option!

When I try to create a new route and right-click expecting to see Point Snap as I did in AIP9, it's not there.

Also - when I select the start edge for my route, right-click to chage direction the option isn't there.

Has anyone else seen this behaviour?

Do the guys at Autodesk know anything about this?

Cheers

Try unloading some of the other add ins.

This add-in conflict issue is getting to be a issue in a number of areas, I
hope Adesk can find a fix.

Cheers Neil,

I'm just going through a full uninstall and reinstall to see if it makes any difference.

Here's hoping......

Garf / Neil,

Yes, Autodesk knows the issue and we are looking into it.

There is a limit for the number of add-in command IDs. When the limit is
reached by adding more add-ins, you will see commands missing. Simple
workaround for now is unloading add-ins you donot use to free up command
IDs. For example, if you work on Tube and Pipe project and will not use
Cable and Harness at all, you may unload Cable and Harness or any other
add-ins.

Thanks Gary,

My AIP install is a fresh install with no 'extra' add-ins. It only uses the ones that are installed with AIP plus the Vault add-in.

Do you have any idea when this might be resolved? Will it a service pack\hotfix?

Thanks again

Steve,

Yes, we are considering a fix in service pack.

Best regards,

Gary

All,

We are continuting to investigate this issue in order to determine why some
commands are missing from the shortcut menus. To summarize the earlier posts
in this thread, this behavior seems to appear only when several hundred
add-in commands are loaded simultaneously. Selectively loading add-ins is
the recommended workaround at this point.

If you have encountered this issue, it would be very helpful to our
investigation if you could post the list of add-ins installed on your
computer, as shown in the Tools > Add-In Manager window. This information
will help us diagnose the cause.

Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Nathan,

Could you expand on the statement "only when several hundred add-in
commands..."? Does this mean add-ins, or CommandButtonDefintions, or
something else. I'm seeing this issue with only a small number of add-ins
loaded. (I will send you a email with a snapshot). The problem also seems to
appear randomly, it is not apparent in every session. Unloading add-ins does
solve it every time.

Neil,

Good question. By "add-in commands," I mean the combination of all of the
following:

1) Each command provided by an add-in, such as Tube & Pipe commands,
Inventor Studio commands, Vault Explorer commands, etc. Note that a single
add-in frequently registers multiple add-in commands. A
CommandButtonDefinition is roughly analogous to an add-in command, so an
add-in which registers 5 CommandButtonDefinitions counts for 5 add-in
commands. Built-in commands such as Extrude and Constraint are not included
in this count.

2) User-defined VBA macros.

3) iFeature files contained in the folders specified in Tools > Application
Options > iFeature.

4) Some user-created items, such as Tube & Pipe styles. Note that styles
using built-in style types are not included in this count.

Many of the above items are loaded and unloaded dynamically, which could
explain why you experience the issue sporadically. As you mentioned, the
current workaround is to unload the add-ins you aren't actively using. Be
assured that we are investigating the issue and are working toward a
resolution.

Thank you for your question.
