adding welds to pipe

Hello,

Are there any cosmetic fillet welds available to add to the pipe where pipe joins pipe and flanges onto the pipes

Can this part be done with a Weld Assembly.I haven`t use welds before?

I use AI 2014

Cheers

Andy

Yes to both.

If you do it as chamfer in the part level you might need to play with the scale of the appearance image.

Hi Adrian

Thanks heaps.That looks good

Would you also have how it would look in a Weld Assembly . Weld where pipes join as well as the flanges- Inventor 2013 or 2014?

Thanks again

Andy

I only have inventor 2015 here but can't imagine it would look massively different. The bottom image is from welding environment.

It's not playing ball for me, you could add it as chamfer in preparation.

Is it possible to add a Weld where the 2 pipes join.

I thought Weld Assembly was easy as i have never used before but was able to add Welds to the Flanges first time.

Any further assistance appreciated

Andy

Well the thing is we're not quite simulating reality. Normally you wouldn't have sharp corners on that pipe, you would chamfer the vertical one. A real simulation would be a swept around that intersection but I believe it's not worth doing just for an image, that's why I suggested to use chamfer with different appearance.
