Adding Welding TAG to welds symbols.

I know i can automatically bring in welds symbols in a weldment iam.  i can do this in the idw as well to tell the shop floor what weld to use and such.  I want to add a tag (octagon with weld number) to the back of the weld symbol.  I give each weld and corresponding welds symbol a unique number such as: 10-0001 or 40-0023.  i want this unique number to come into the TAG that i have made.  My simple parts have 150-200 welds and all must have a tracked number to be signed off by QA/QC, welder, shop foreman...... So having to add and change 150-200 weld tags as sketched symbols has become a huge job in its self.  My next project has about 2000 welds.  OUCH!!!  Any help thoughts or anything will be hugley appericated.
