ADDING TEXT TO A DIMENSION IN .idw DRAWINGS

I am having trouble when editing dimensions in idw drawings. An example being that i wish to change the dimension text

40 to read "40x45 CHAM." When i right click the dimension and go into text the format text box opens but when try to change what it  is inside the chevrons and replace it with my new text  then this does not seem to work.

Any idea what is wrong.

Regards

You can't change anything inside those grey chevrons, but you can edit you styles to get your desired output for annotationg a chamfer: see image below:

or you add to that intial value that is there to get your result , if 40 is inside those chevrons already, then add the rest of the text you want. this could be more ideal if it is only a few changfes required
