Hi,
Can anyone please explain me how to design and simulate a extension spring (not compression spring) in Autodesk Inventor 2012.
I have spend more time to search the tutorial, But I cannot make it.
Please gothrough the attached snapshot for working condition.
Thanks
RK
Hi!
You have to turn the sketch with degrees of freedom.
The part (spring) must be "adaptative" and constrained in the end and start by the other assembly parts.
Sorry, a can´t help you with a example, i dont have INV 2012.

Pls find the attached files..
create a new extension spring.. Please check positon for open & close condition in asm. for spring working length..
I want the start to end video for extension spring design with simulation..I hope that will help me a lot..
thanks

Hello,
If you adapt the procedure available at this link for an "extension" spring the result seems to be ok.
http://usa.autodesk.com/getdoc/id=TS1069846
I have prepared an example (to use "only for information") attached here.
=> It is possible to drive the constraint "length" in the assembly from 35 to 70mm for example and the deformation of the spring should be visible.
I hope that will help you.
Best regards
